After a mother said her five-year old boy was inspired by the pyromaniacal activities of Beavis an' Butt-head to start a fire that killed her two-year old daughter there was an outcry by concerned groups and citizens. One psychiatrist proclaimed Beavis an' Butt-head a "Sesame Street for psychopaths."

After the show moved to a later time slot, etc. but still continued to have a a loyal audience one critic commented: "The reputed cynicism of the 'twentynothings' was on view as Beavis and Butt-head evoked both a stunted adolescence which was long past and an unsure and seemingly inaccessible future..."

What happened was terrible, and my sympathy goes out to the family.

However, I want to point out that the "Beavis and Butt-head" was never meant for five-year-old children.

Also, where were the parents in all of this?

Weren't they monitoring their child at all while he was watching television?

The idiot box is not an electronic babysitter!

Leaving your five-year-old child in front of a TV is no way to raise of take care of him!

What is wrong with people these days?
