|
Disclaimer I: This post is NOT for people who are enthralled
with the wonderful offerings of Arirang. Nor is it for the diehard
fans of regimented network scheduling. This post is for the
people who will change the way TV is presented and distributed.
Disclaimer II: I would gladly pay to watch the shows that I am
about to espouse, however the network "powers thet be" have not
yet presented a method for me to do so.
Best downloads for December (in no particular order):
-"Modern Marvels"
-HBO's "Rome"
-"Connections 3"
-"Mythbusters"
If you have found any other wothwhile distractions, then please
post them here. |

A few new series have really impressed me this fall:
a) Reunion =6 high school friends graduate in 1986 and each episode is a year in their lives. The twist is that in 2006 (the present) one of them is murdered and you don't know which one at first, and from there it's a series of flashbacks as the detective tries to discover who the killer is.
b) Prison Break =This is an AWESOME show that keeps you on the edge of your seat with each episode, like 24 does. Dominic Purcell (guy from John Doe) is on death row for a murder he didn't committ and his brother purposefully gets arrested with the ultimate plan to break them both out of there.
That's all I can think of right now but I'll post more if I think of them. |

Agreed on Rome and Prison Break...also MY NAME IS EARL with Jason Lee (Mallrats...)...comedy about a deadbeat redneck who discovers KARMA but doesn't really know exactly what it is....
....the show is worth downloading for a good or well needed chuckle |

...begins very, very heavily censored.
There is no way they are letting some of that stuff show on prime time Korean tv.

I don't like TV very much, and I would never take the time and effort to download it.
If I were to recommend some downloads, it would be comics. Frank Miller's new All-Star Batman and Robin is a cool Batman/Sin City mix and worth checking out, even though it has barely started. |

you can download comics? Where?
I finally got a good computer and am now finally downloading Battlestar Galactica.
I liked Rome a lot but as a history buff/geek, I found some annoying historical inaccuracies.
Oh, the new Battlestar Galactica doesn't have the same theme music but I finally downloaded it from Kazaa and had a moment of joy. |

You can usually find some comics on the usual Bittorrent sites.
But if you're serious, download DC++ and go to the Secret Garden hub, or register at Z-Cult FM to get to the people that are actually scanning the issues.
You can pretty much get everything you'd ever want. |

My latest dl's were of Richard Pryor, two seperate one hour live stand up comedy shows. He was simply the man, a true classic comedy genius. You can see where Eddy Murphy got a lot of ideas from. But Pryor blows Murphy and all other pretenders out of the water, a true original, with class and style to burn. |

This is probably in a different thread somewhere, but where does everyone do their downloading. I've been using torrents primarily (mininova, mostly) but a lot of the stuff mentioned here is not available on the sites I know of.
I hate kazaa and edonkey pumps . . . any other suggestions? |
