Hey I am just exploring working in Korea teaching Englsih and have a couple of questions about contracts.
1) I get the sense from reading that the teaching season generally starts in March and September...is this only the case for Uni's and Public Schools? I'd like to work August 1st-August 1st, is this possible?
2) Are shorter (shorter than 12 months that is) contracts an option? |

1- The teaching season you mention is only for universities and public schools. Hakwons hire year round.
2- Work visas are for 12 months. There are however 6 month contracts offered sometimes and camps. The last two do not offer all the benefits of a full year contract however (no severance and sometimes no airfare). |

That depends but in my experiencew here I would say most likely no.
If you fly over on your own and find work the school will have to fly you to Japan for a visa run. They will not be enclined to pay for your flight over to Korea as well. |
