Is it possible to use a cell phone purchased in, say NZ, and use it in Korea? If not, is there anything that can be done to modify it so that it works in Korea?

Is it a GSM phone? I have been told that you can purchase SIM cards at the airports and some phone shops.. though I don't know it personally.

Korea uses the CDMA system primarily and you need a phone for that.

Yes, it's a GSM phone. Does Korea have different GSM parameters or is it that you can't use GSM phone at all? Thanks for your help.

I'm completely clueless when it comes to phones.
