Ok, I'm in Seoul and I was expecting my first winter to be HELL! But it wasn't. I can recall only 6 or 7 days when it was intolerably cold and only one day when it was torture. The rest was okay, if not downright pleasant. The mornings were often cold as hell but it always warmed up in the afternoon when the sun was shining - that was the general state of affairs i feel.

Dont rule out one more cold snap or a good dump of snow.

Never got below zero here on the island, except during that freak cold spell in early December.

i voted same as usual. our bitterly cold winter arrived quite early this year so it'd only be fair for it to end early as well.

The key: Did the Han freeze over?

In a 'normal' winter, it ices over. If it doesn't, it's a mild winter.

The truth be told, December was colder than usual, but January was spot on, and now Spring has sprung a bit early. It sucked that it got cold early this winter, but what can be done? Shoots soon to be seen and eaten with our soups. Hurrah, spring is here in its earliest.

oh lord, i spoke too soon. cold as hell today.

thx for all the votes guys and gals.

i wonder who the three people are who voted for 'colder than usual'. winter in Korea must be completely overrated if it's milder than this usually.

Mildest I've known in 7 years - but it can still come back and bite.

(I'm in San Diego this week so may miss the last).

I'd say it got cold rather early but I can't recall there being any "painfully" cold days (when it's literally too painful to walk a couple blocks) or days when your pants start to freeze after 10 minutes outside.
