Are you using VLan Player?
There are some settings that change how it deinterlaces the picture, under video settings.
If it is happening in Microsoft's Media Player, I have no idea. Maybe you need a new installation? |

I use Real Player, then MS Media. Both are showing the AVI's upside down but not the mpeg or real files, just AVI's |

Get Videolan Player or download a 'codec pack'. Either will work in allowing you to view your movie files. |

I had a dvd player that could do that as well. Of course in the end it got a bit annoying, having to turn it the right way up - just to get the dvd out.
I say enjoy it while it's still fun ... |

Is the sound backwards as well?
It's a codec thing. I had some old home videos I put on CD a long time ago...they played upside down as well....the encoding was done with some relic .avi compression that only the great "megacodecpack" could sort out. |

Changing your ettings or drivers wouldn't help anything as the problem is related to the encoding of the actual file. |
