Anyone live there? Anyone ever lived there? What is the area like? It seems a little out there on its own at the end of the purple line(line 5). How far is it from Gangnam/Itaewon area? Thanks.

Wow! Didn't realise it was that far from the Itaewon/Hongdae area. Is there any kind of social scene or nightlife in that area? I heard it was a quiet place to live.

I'd say it's more like an hour from Itaewon, over an hour from Hongdae. I used to work there. It's not bad, but yeah, a bit far from the bars. If I lived there, I'd probably go to Jamsil, Sinchon (not Sincheon) and COEX more than Itaewon.

I lived there for two years...

45 minutes to Itaewon. 35 to Gangnam.

It has a few decent little bars and some clubs (in Cheonho), but about 95% of the clubs don't allow foreigners.

Nice looking women.

There is a "secret" US army base about 30 minutes east of there so lots of young brats out on the weekend. No doubt why they clubs are against foreigners.

Cleaner than the rest of Seoul, but still stinks.

Not sure...

A couple of GI's I met in my first year told me about it, and then every other kid I met was surprised that I knew about the "secret" base.

There are at least 20 hagwons around that station; a few foreigners here and there. There's an E-Mart and a shopping center, restaurants, and bus stop for Chamsil, maybe Kangnam, if you want to avoid subway/transfer sometimes. It's not a bad area, mostly residential, lots of apartments.

It's an OK neighborhood... just don't sign with the SLP hogwans there.
Bad news from both of them (same owner).

Sounds a bit far from the 'action' so to speak.

It's very close to õȣ which is a great place to hang out. There is a cinema, hyundai department store, and loads of bars. The place is even busy during the week. I will be moving there in March.

I must have been in every single bar in Cheonho. I have never experienced any problems.
