Well, despite all of my worries my daughter is having the time of her life in Korea. She flew home for Christmas ($$$ Ouch!). She paid for part and we paid for part. She had a wonderful time coming home. And now that she's back, she's having a wonderful time being back.
She just got back fro visiting China over the weekend - saw Beijing and the Great Wall....
So my wife and I are wondering how we're going to keep her down on the farm after she's see the great wall????!!! |

hmmmm .. not sure what to say. good luck with your daughter. i take it that maybe you're experiencing separation anxiety and this will pass shortly. instead of hoping she comes back to the "farm" soon, maybe you could just support her wherever she goes and realize that she is having a good time and seeing stuff that she would never see back home.

No, you cant go home again. I couldnt. I cant imagine ever going back to Canada and living there. Not after what Ive seen in Asia. After nearly 5 years in Asia, I just find this part of the world fascinating, exciting amd more suited to me. |

You wouldn't think so if you read this board, but it DOES happen!
Thanks for sharing.
If I go home any time soon, it'll be by force. |

| You seem even more pathologically obsessed than my mother. Actually, I could just see my mom posting a message like that if she knew how to use the internet, lol. |

Great to hear your daughter is having such a good time! And equally great to hear she made it home for Christmas! You must be a close family. Nice!
I hope the future is just as good for you. |

My mom's sure happy I'm back! I don't think her yard got raked very well for 4 years
Once you've lived in Asia it's hard to get it out of your system. |

Nice to hear she is loving her time out here!
It really can open your eyes to live here. Many of us then find that this place is home. At first this is a strange realization.
My mother had a hard time with me living here and since my wife and I had a son (our first child) last spring my mother has been feeling the distance blues. This is why I flew her over last summer for a baby visit!
This is also why we go to Canada once (or twice) per year.
Then again, my brother lives in Tokyo (came out here before me) and is married with kids so my mom is getting used to her kids being scattered across the globe!
Could I live in Canada again? Yes I could. But, it would probably be an adjustment..... |
