So I've done the private school thing for a little while now, and I start a new job in Seoul at a public school very soon. I will be the only foreign teacher there at a very big school (at least 1000 students, I believe).
I'm quite curious as to how different the work will be from the typical private school, and I hope some people on this board can provide some insight; are teachers treated differently by the students? What about the parents? Co-workers? Are the on the job stresses better or worse, and how? Etcetera.
I'm sure no matter how many stories are shared, I will have lots that I will have to discover on my own, and many questions about those experiences. Still, if anyone would like to share their stories, I would be interested in reading them. |

The age group that you're teaching will make a huge difference. From what I can tell, public middle or high schools are generally great, elementary schools seem to be hit or miss. |

It's a lot like the public school jobs described in all of the other thousand threads, including the 4 or 5 on the current job discussion page. |
