Hey

That time of year is rolling around again and I have to decide what to do with my savings, specifically how to send more than $10K. Last year I had the experience of the bank demanding my passport and writing in my amounts sent overseas else not dealing with me. I'm growing desperately creative to have this wrong righted.

Am I being singled out by the bank? Is there a cap difference between an E2 visa and another visa?

What are the legal alternatives? Can I do it with a different type of visa?

10 thousand dollars is not a cap. You can take out more as long as you declare it. The laws have nothing to do with your visa type or you being singled out. Even on my F5 I would need to declare any amount OVER 10 grand US.

You can send out of Korea 100% of the money you can prove you earned legally here.

Deal with KEB(Korea Exchange Bank) unlike the backwater inbred run banks KB, Woori, etc they have no problems dealing with foriegners and usually have employees that can speak and understand English.

Once I started dealing with KEB all my banking headaches disappeared!
