She's written a couple of decent novels, but aside from the Handmaids tale, they tend to blur together into an archetpal angry woman novel. ( why hasn't she had anything selected by Oprah yet?)

Handmaid's Tale was required reading as an English undergrade for me. (There are actually Cliffnotes on it, the sign of good literature Smile )
I've also read Wilderness Tips, where her short stories come across strong.
But come on Canada, is that the best you got?

i love her. and i really enjoyed her most recent book oryx and crake. it was great.
i really liked alias grace, too.

I like Margaret Atwood, and I enjoyed reading through all her books one summer, but I can't really put myself in any of the categories above.

I also loved The Handmaid's Tale. It seemed a little dated when I read it (the Clinton years), but suddenly it just doesn't anymore. [/i]
