I presume (not sure quite yet) that I am moving to Seoul in September, or late August and starting to live in Seoul Sept. 1st or so. I need to find a place in Seodaemoongu. It doesn't have to be any hot shakes. I am prepared to splash wash and visit the public bathhouse. I don't need something too big, just big enough for me and my two cats (it can't be so small they'd go stir crazy, and ideally they'd be able to get out on the roof and cat their way down to the street). I'd be willing to share with a Korean or a foreigner, as long as they never smoked inside (and hopefully didn't smoke at all). But I've never gone looking for housing in Seoul, and everyone keeps spitting out these scary numbers. Here in Daegu I'd just walk around looking at signs at the end of alleys and on doors and talk with some ajummas and get a place for a million or two deposit, a million or two payment for 10-12 months. Does that not exist in Seoul at all?
Seoulites, please give me some advice on this one!
Must be Seodaemoongu or Mapogu. I don't want to be too far away from where I have to be several days a week! Want to be able to walk, ride my bike, in-line skate my commute- not be bussing and subwaying out of necessity (well, rainy days maybe...) |
