Anyone catch the article over the weeken... errr holiday about the suffering teachers for Berlitz Korea have formed a union?

http://www.berlitzunionkorea.org/ (horrible layout skills)

I guess this is not unique. Teachers working for Berlitz Japan formed a union about a decade ago.

Now, that's fine 'n' all. Lord knows no one has anything nice to say about the org here. Their pay sucks. Their hours suck. They don't give you a free apartment. They're late in pay. They try to scam you out of your bonus. But it makes me wonder why anyone would even sign up with them in the first place (other than making the entirely wrong assumption that they're a big international company therefore they'll be upstanding and honest). If you're researching job opportunities, unless you do it drunk or high you MUST rapidly conclude that a standard job is 2 million+ and a free apartment and no split shift. Why you would accept anything less, is beyond me (other than maybe you're such a waste of a human being no other school will take you).
