|
|
I have an opportunity to teach at LG late mornings/early afternoons. Right now, all I know about is 3 hours/wk. My boss asked me how much I would want to get paid for that. I'd be teaching one ot the higher ups in the company one-on-one. The hagwon driver would be driving me and it takes a good 15 minutes to get there. I have to take in consideration the driver's time. So, transportation. I was told that we have to take care of transportation. I guess the main issue is the driver's time. I'm in the boonies and I don't have a car or motorcycle. Not sure about a bus.
Anyway, how much does a job like that pay? What should I ask for? |

tell them you want 40,000-50,000 won an hour for yourself. They can charge whatever else for their part......also make sure you get the permission on your ARC from immigration. |

40 000 min is what i would ask for(I wouldn't do it less than for 50 000) as I can assure if there are more than 10 students in that class he would be getting about 90-100 000 won an hour...
In companies it usually works out at 8 - 10 000 won per student per class...
Edit: i just read it is one on one...maybe ask your boss how much he is willing and push him as high as he is willing to go(if it is to low just say no, if he changes his mind you know there is room to manouver)....
-I am not trying to be a mercenary, it is just about getting a good share for your work. remember, you are the one who is working, not your boss although he does deserve a good share of the pie as well |

You can "ask" for all you want. My guess is that you won't get more than 30,000 won per class hour, and that would be surprisingly high. The hogwan will probably get 40,000 to 50,000. If your boss can get more, then so can you. It would help to have more information on the rate LG is paying. |

I think that what you're saying is reasonable. That's about what I said. Like I said, I get a ride there and back. I currently get 20,000 for OT. I'm signing on again, so I could tell him that I'll so any ot for 25,000 because I get 3-5 or 6 hrs a wk at the hagwon anyway. Increases everything plus I might get more hours at LG.
I hear people saying "No less that this"/"No less than that", but I think they're fools. |

If I was, however, teaching more than one student at LG, that's different. That's where I'm confused. Right now, we'ret talking about one. Currently, I'm holding out on 35 with a possiblitly of 30. Wouldn't want to end up with a class of 10 teaching for 30 though. I could, however, say FU if that happened. I'm not an inexperienced, young pushover. |

I think you really knew the answer before you asked the question. |
