LOL! I just arrived in China, and the first thing I get in my mailbox is this, from one of my youngest Korean students:
Quote:
hello joe how are you day fun or bad

china is good or bad
pleas come back fast new teacher is bad
new teacher not play a game is bad

good bye
2006. 2. 13 monday by NAME
bye bye bye

In other news, I walked to where there used to be a night market I liked, near BLCU, but there is nothing there now. Down the street there are new KFC, Subway, and Pizza Hut restaurants plus a new mini-mall (or something).

Joe, you need to change the location under your name! Are you moving on to the China forums? I heard you have to have special access granted from Dave in order to access the general discussion China forum...

China children=spawn of Satan

The one child policy has create a massive amount of spoiled brats (right up to 20 years old, as the policy was implemented about 20 years ago I beleive).

Yeah, a whole bunch of little emperors. There were some really sweet kids, just like in Korea but every Saturday morning(kids classes all day + Sunday) I would ask myself I was in China. Chinese adults were pretty groovy, maybe better than Korean, though if asked by my Korean boss I'
ll deny that...

I joined the China forums with the same username, but I don't think I'll use them, they're pretty dead. I guess there are other sites more active for Beijing and for China. I'll be teaching university students here, I think mostly first-years who are part of the one-child generation. I'll see how it goes but I'm pretty psyched about the job.

Oh, I did that for a year. It had it's ups and it's downs, but I suggest right from the start find ways to teach what plagerism is (not by lecturing ofcourse). Seriously Joe!
