|
|
As listed on the website http://usembassy.state.gov/seoul/wwwh3550.html
They suggest that one is not legally entitled to severance pay unless one is working 40 hours, as stated contractually, every week. So does this mean that unless you contract for a 160 hour teaching position you can legally get screwed out of your severance...even if they say they will give it in contract??
Furthermore, if I am working 160 hours per month, shouldn't I be getting a much highger figure than 2mil won??
I love this place, thanks for any info!! |

You most certainly are eligible for severance with a 30 hour/week teaching job. Especially if there is a clause for severence in your contract.
And yes, you should be insisting on much more than 2 million/month if you're teaching 160 hours per month, if you were to sign a contract for that many hours.
It's all about what you negotiate. |
