I'm looking for a job in this city in a few weeks from now.. I'd really like to hear from teachers who work there or have worked there.. It'd be nice to know which schools are worth applying at and which ones to avoid..
Thanks all!

I work in Ansan right now, near Sangnoksu stn.
I don't know much about other schools, but it seems to me that most English teachers in the area seem to be around Handeap stn, or jungang stn. Someone else would probably be able to help you more with that.
I like the area though, if you have any specific questions, pm me and I'll be happy to help with whatever I can! |

I've worked for Brighton in Ansan. Although I had my qualms with them while I worked there, they weren't too bad. Pretty decent for a first job, and you can get them to give you good housing.
The teachers I had talked to in the area were 'blah' about Kids Herald, and SLP was a strange place that attracted strange teachers.
I'm trying to remember the name of the one school across the street from Handaeap station and across from Magic Castle. The teachers there liked their jobs, and I would have signed there if I wanted to stay in Ansan.
My take on it is that most of the hagwons in Ansan are pretty much the same. They're suburban hagwons. This means that you get the usual hagwon hassles, but the benefits are better than a hyper-intense, cramped apartment Gangnam hagwon. |
