I thought I should impart this information for all you British males frustrated at being given a "business cut" when what you want is the world's easiest haircut: "trim on top, number three at the sides blended in."
It took me six months to find someone who did it right (even Korean translators didn't work).

First go to this web page http://haircutsformen.org/buzz/pages/cutssemishort.htm

Copy and paste the picture of what looks like a Russian guy with the description "Style Notes: Is a longer traditional Crewcut. With a traditional Crewcut, the hair on top is normally combed up with wax or gel. This variation is excellent for a guy who is looking for an easy, no fuss style"

Take said picture to hairdresser. Before sitting down root through their accessory holder and find a number three clipper guard. Run this through your hair to demonstrate you want them to simply shave the side of your head with this and then show them the picture. After much gesticulating the hairdresser will proclaim to understand. If you are lucky they will.

Now take your seat and await the cut ensuring they use the guard as demonstrated. If they remove the guard at any point in the proceedings jump from your chair, throw them 5000 and run away.

If you are lucky they will reproduce the haircut you have shown them. At this point pay them a 100,000 retainer, and agree to employ them as your personal hairdresser if they ever lose their job.

Good luck...

Hmmm. I can see why you chose 'formulaic' as your ID.
