I am trying to think of places where I have never seen someone illegally smoking.

I came up with this:

Department Store proper (though I have seen them smoking in the entrance way).

Movie Theatre (excluding bathroom)

Um....that's all I can think of.

I laughed my head off last night on the plane. During the saftey lecture, they mentioned it was illegal to smoke on the flight, or to destroy the smoke detectors in the bathroom- then they showed a diagram of the bathroom to illustrate the location of said smoke detectors.

Confused

Not in Korea. I saw a man light up in a Canadian court room. I was there to fight a speeding ticket (long story) and I actually saw a man pull out cig and light it up. He walked away with a 500 dollar ticket. That was so funny....he just kept smoking while answering the police officers questions and when he was finished he threw it on the ground. I thought...either very cool (James Dean) or really stupid.

There's almost nowhere where they won't park their cars either. I hate it when the park right in front of the enterance to my villa apartment building. Does he / she think he / she is Donald Trump or something?

Another place is right in front of the mail boxes. They leave like 2 feet so so have to squeeze in to get your mail. The thoughtlessness for the fellow man shown by Koreans really bothers me sometimes.

I've always been shocked by how little they smoke in the subway stations. i think i've seen it just once (not counting the times i was doing it). i mean, there are a million people, and a subway station is a sizable area, full of strangers, with miminal security that used by drunk people late at night and still, there is some kind of magic aura around the place that keeps 99% of people from smoking.

i've never seen anybody actually smoke on the train.

No way, man. This was totally a passenger. I've seen the bus drivers do it as well, though.

No smoking on busses is OFF the list!

I've smoked on a Korean bus and on a subway platform (Jongno3ga). Nobody said anything.
