I know people must get tired of seeing these messages but as a newbie Embarassed I am wondering if anyone has heard of New York Language School in Daegu and knows of the school's reputation. I spoke with the president of the school today and my intuition says he is a good guy, but one must not live by intuition alone. I really appreciate any replies. Thank-you in advance. Liz

They've been around for 11 years there and there's been nary a peep about them online. Given that teachers traditionally come online here to complain when they are wronged, and the satisfied ones don't talk publicly about which school they work at, as to not risk spoiling a good thing, its usually a safe bet that no news can often tend to be good news, as far as qualifying online feedback about schools. Nevertheless, make sure you talk to the current and/or departing foreign teacher there and ask a lot of questions about the gig, quality of accommodation, people you'll have to work with, etc...Things that usually make the biggest difference in one's sanity over the course of a year, but can't be assessed by staring at numbers and a contract on the other side of the world. G'luck. Smile

they are just down the street from me. however, i'm not sure if they are part of a chain.
anyway, i knew 2 people working there, but that was 2 years ago.
as far as i can remember, there were no big complaints back then. they did pay less than average for more work than average, but i never heard complaints about money.

as Poktanju said, check with current teachers there. ask about the schedule, management, apartment, etc.
