|

wanted to meet me Saturday so I could give him my documents to get the visa process going. He said he would add to the contract my working and living location as well as an airfare reimbursement promise. I don't have my documents like my notorised degree and college transcripts. I told him instea of meeting Saturday I'll just mail that stuff to him when I go back to the states. He says OK and gave me my working and living address and he said the school can pay for my ticket if I can't. He also gave me the phone number of the girl I am replacing and I'll be in her apartment. Trustworthy????? |

Princess, either you've got truth issues or you just don't trust this particular guy - or both; this is about the 3rd thread you've started in the past couple of weeks about whether you should trust this guy or not.
Look at it from his perspective: should he trust you? He could pay for your flight back to the States and you might never come back. Trust is a two-way street, but it seems like the dude's on the up and up. OTOH, if you keep having ambivalence about it, maybe there's justification for your suspicions... |

What did the girl you are replacing say?
I'm sure she can give you a bit of insight to what this new boss is like and what working at the school is like.
Does she trust him? |

Well, I haven't spoken with her yet. I emailed 2 teachers and I haven't gotten a response yet. It's been 2 days. The owner of the school wanted to meet with me Friday evening or Saturday morning, but I'm just too busy to go 2 hours away. I have to pack and stuff like that...I leave March 3rd. |

If you're happy with the position itself and the apartment, then accept the
round trip offer back home. Just have the conditions concerning this offer
covered in the contract for your protection. When you return to work for the
guy, he might deduct half the fare off your first paycheck and reimburse you
for it upon completion of your contract, which is only fair. Be sure he can't
deduct the entire amount off your first paycheck or else you'll end up begging,
borrowing, or stealing until your next one. I gather you also want another
ticket to go back home at the end of the year. If you're afraid you won't get
it, then like I said arrange this condition in writing or simply trust the guy and
see what happens. |
