I have an opportunity to possibly teach at KAIST this summer and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the area. Some of my Korean friends that I go to college with tell me it is pretty boring there. If I get the job I will only be there for about a month.

There is a TESOL conference in Tampa, Florida in March and I was wondering if it would be worth my while to go there to look for a job for the summer. I am currently a junior in College at Texas A&M University and I have experiance with the english language institute here and I teach English for the Learning Language Institute on campus. I don't have any TESOL or TOEFL training.

What can you all recomend to me?

Without a diploma you would be working illegally. In other words, don't.

Hater is right. Without a degree you cannot teach legally in Korea.

I'm going guess that your friends are from Seoul. Seoulites tend to think any place outside Seoul is 'country'. Actually, Daejon is a pretty nice city, especially the area around KAIST.

My advice, keep track of that opportunity at KAIST and after you graduate, apply again.
