I'm coming to Korea for the summer to study, but want to spend 2-3 weeks in Thailand before that. I've got a couple questions:

1) Since I'm bringing luggage for the whole summer, I don't really want to haul it around Thailand, so I was wondering if they have storage at the airport in bangkok or a nearby facility? Has anybody used it. Is it safe?

2) I can get a pretty cheap flight RT from the States to Bangkok. I was thinking since I'm going to be spending a few weeks there, I could just get a RT flight to Seoul when I arrive. Has anybody bought tickets while in Thailand? Also, does anybody know where you can get cheap multi-stop flights originating from the States?

Thanks a lot!

I'm just back from there.
1) not sure about the airport but I did notice luggage storage facilities offered in the hotels ect for travellers..not sure how long term it was but I don't think you'd have any problems cutting a deal with a guest house or wahtever for 3 weeks.

2) Shouldn't be a problem- a Rt to seoul from Bkk, then your flight back to the US after that. don't see any difficulty..

There is a left luggage room in each terminal of Don Muang airport - I used it a while back and I think it was about B90 per day per bag (might be off on the number).

You'll do much better picking up your ticket to Seoul in Bangkok - just my experience. Look in the Bangkok Post when you arrive - and there will be lots of ads for cheap tickets to almost everywhere. I think I've gotten killed pricewise - almost everytime I've bought tickets in/out of a country that I wasn't in. (IMO/IME)
