Illegal Immigrant Jumps to His Death
An illegal Turkish immigrant on Monday jumped from a sixth-floor window at the immigration bureau to his death. The man was arrested during a crackdown on illegal immigrants in Baran-eup in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, on Sunday and taken to the Immigration Bureau. He shared the cell with four other detainees. The immigration bureau and police speculate he removed the inner window and broke the outer window with the toilet seat in an attempt to escape.

At the time of the incident, four officials were on duty outside the cell. The National Human Rights Commission has dispatched investigators to the scene.

I saw the giant hole in the wall of Suwon Immigration when I went there yesterday. I am unsure how or why someone would jump there. I don't think he jumped....really. Can we say beaten to death and thrown out the window when he died by "accident". There have been a few deaths related to Suwon immigration in the last couple years.

Very strange. Broke the outer wall with a dunny, four other guys in the cell and no one tried to stop him and the staff heard nothing. That's Korea for you.

What's this? Why would they beat detainees, anyway? Poor guy was probably getting deported, and maybe he would've been met by the Turkish police upon his arrival. I wonder what would've happened- he must've been scared. =(

I have my doubts that he jumped through the window after he broke it with the garbage can...I saw the hole and I have serious doubts. Also, he was in custody at the time. Who would question them as to how he died? They say he jumped and that's the end of it. There are some serious questions to be asked but no one is asking them.

Enquiring minds want to know...conspiracies abound...perhaps he "knew something" and they needed to "silence him".

So, instead of tossing him out to sea with no traces, they beat him to near death, ask convicts (or do it themselves) to punch a hole through a cell wall with a garbage can, then, drag the poor guy in the cell or from where he was laying unconscious, toss him out the hole, in plain view of the other inmates (or perhaps they took them out in the hallway to way) and then claim he jumped...

Yes! Of course! That makes more sense then a desperate illegal immigrant facing a return to his home country where he might be under threath of death jumping (perhaps trying to escape...as human desperation makes people do strange things) and dying in the process...no thats just too unlikely.

End result of this, the poor guy is dead and that is a sad conclusion to his life.
