anyone know if the american embassy does finger printing? Or do we have to trudge down to a korean police station? I need a finger print card for a fbi back ground check and they require a specific fbi approved blah blah form.

You may be able to get your fingerprints done at the Pass/ID Section of Yongsan Army Base right next to the USO.
I had mine done there last year and if I remember correctly it's a non-restricted area. I also saw a great deal of non-military personnel mulling about.

They take your fingerprints with the right ink (important) on a State Department form and sign off on it.

If you're American or explain that it's for an FBI check then it may be a snap. Bring your passport for ID. I'd call the Pass/ID Section or the USO first to see if it's possible.

Getting them done at a Korean police station MAY entail the wrong ink which may entail getting your fingerprint sample rejected.

Actually your fingerprints would be done on a *Justice Dept* form instead of a State Dept one (I've been filling out too many immigration forms)

The deal with the ink is that when they take your fingerprints it's initially pink until they put it under a black light and it changes to black ink.

The first set that I had done by my husband's S3 shop got rejected by the RCMP for poor quality impressions and wrong ink (regular stuff).

Went to the ID/Pass Section for the second set and got it done right.

Dan, the first person who invents back massages (and beatings) by broadband will be a millionaire Very Happy
