Check it out, a Japanese indoor beach. It's around $50 US to get in, which is odd, because there's a free, real beach just 300 metres away! Check out the link below... Laughing

You think that's cool?
Indoor skiing on the Arabian peninsula- it doesn't get any crazier than this:

They have almost the exact same swimming thing at West Edmonton Mall (one of the biggest malls in the world). Wavepool, waterslides, beach huts, bungee jump, the whole deal. It's a great escape for those long, cold Edmonton winters.

That's kind of in keeping with the Japanese desire for order, predictability, and control of nature. Real ocean and sand are never quite just right...

I mean god bless the Japanese but their lives are cradle to grave controlled and protected. I met this guy that worked in a national park in Australia. 9 out of 10 times if there was a lost or "found dead" hiker, it was a Japanese. They just didn't get that national parks not only went on forever, but didn't have cell phone coverage, water fountains, anything that could hurt or offend you was fenced off, etc. "There would be a fence there if I could fall to my death so the way must be safe..."

In the Canadian Rocky Mountains, the bears have a steady diet of Japanese tourists.

By the way, that thing doesn't look much different than the World Waterpark in West Edmonton Mall. I guess the difference is that place is about 12 hours from the nearest coast.

I'll never forget the time when some Japanese parents let their little girl dip her hand in honey, and then go feed the bears with it. Well, let's just say the girl lost more than her honey. Sad story. Sad
