Anyone into this season?

Lisa Tucker and Paris Bennet.. amazing! Both 16 year old as well!

Ayla Brown.. amazing the effort and hard-work she puts into it each week.

Kellie Pickler.. love that Carolina accent!

American Idol is, for me, like a train wreck happening on a chalk board: hard to look away even as it drives you insane.

I prefer not to tempt fate.

i actually watched the 1st season, and enjoyed it. i watched maybe a couple shows of the 2nd season....and havent since. it's just boring now. to me, Kelly Clarkson is THE American Idol. why have a new one every year?? the more there are, the less the title means.

Are you saying that having the World Cup every 4 years makes the title mean less?

Ummmm i dont think that was what he was saying at all Confused

He said having it EVERY YEAR makes it seem meaningless. Where did you get the world cup anology from? Having a world cup every year would make the title seem meaningless, and that is certainly not what he advocated. Rolling Eyes

Oh geez. So what about the Stanley Cup? Super Bowl? World Series? NBA basketball? Pretty much every domestic championship in any major professional sports league the world over. What about a boxing championship which may be contested 2 or 3 times a year and often change hands just as often?

There are some really talented folks on there this year.

Elliot Yamin is a kid with world-class talent who almost certainly wouldn't have gotten any kind of recognition if it weren't for the show. He absolutely SMOKED Moody's Mood For Love, which is one of the tuoghest songs there is to perform. His performance was flawless, probably the best male preformance ever on the show.

Taylor Hicks is unique and genuine, and now has achieved widespread recognition from the show. however far he makes it on AI, he'll have a secure following and solid career after the show.

Mandisa is a superb vocalist who will at the very least get some studio work out of this. Lisa, Paris, and Katherine, have careers awaiting them as a result of AI exposure.

Winning the AI crown is secondary, IMO, to the recognition and exposure the show provides...you don't have to win it to get a record deal.

Chris will almost certainly be the male finalist.
The ladies are still up in the air.

Definetely. Of all the contestants, he's the only one I'd definetely consider buying music from someday.

Equally, I'm not sure if he'd win AI or not.. but he'll have quite an audience from here on out regardless.

My wife and I have been watching it together since the 3rd season. It's one of our little rituals that we share.

My favorite men are Chris, Elliott, Gedeon, and Taylor. My favorite women are Katherine (she's got this cute sexiness thing going on) and Paris are my two favorite women.
