Maybe you should change this to a pole, rather than just naming it "pole".

Schools:

+ regular, dependable pay
+ work 8 to 5
+ a lot of vacation time

- large classes
- may not get to choose which school (I don't know if true. Just heard it.)

Hakwons:

+ smaller class size

Those are what came to mind. I'm sure there are others.

The vacation time absolutely isn't true if you're in GEPIK and far from a given if you're working in Gyeonngi anymore.

Basically, if you want to teach in a public school, don't do it with GEPIK. They offer the same pay and same vacation as a hagwon, with far more onsite time, and far larger classes.

I'd take GEPIK over a hagwon for the pay and peace of mind. When I worked in a hagwon, I was teaching upwards of 40 classes a week for 2 million won (if I wasn't teaching I wasn't working so I wasn't getting paid). Now that I teach in GEPIK, anything over 22 classes a week goes for 20,000 won per class. Add to that the likelihood of having to deal with a really crooked director and (in my very personal opinion) GEPIK wins out.
