VISA QUESTION:
Ok, I've been looking online for information on planning a summer trip to Vladivostok, but I'm seeing a lot of different information out there.
First I have to worry about getting a visa (for an American). I've seen some places say you have to apply at least 90 days before you travel, and on the visa you have to write down your whole itinerary...places to visit, dates, and even the hotel you'll be staying at (as in you have to book before you even apply for the visa!?!?).
However, I've also seen info that says you can do this through a travel agency and it will be a lot quicker (several weeks instead of months) and then you can put them down as your itinerary or something.
Does anyone have information on this, and what I need to do/look into?

TRAVEL QUESTION:
I'd also just like to ask anyone who's been or heard...what things there are to check out in Vladivostok, and if there are enough things to stay several days or more like 2 days?
Thanks! |

for your visa, you'll need:
passport (valid for 6 mos. after end of sojourn)
invite/voucher - travel agents can give you this for 25000won
form
photos
fee
2 weeks
are you in Korea? In Busan, in the aeroflot office, they (the unrelated travel agent) can give you the invite and voucher for 25000won. Otherwise, you can book one night in a hotel room (or not) and get the voucher and invite through them (usually for a similar fee- they will fax it to you)
just bring all that stuff to the Russian Consulate near you (Abilene, TX? probably Washington or Chicago) and if you opt for the 2 week processing it will cost you 100 bucks, give or take 30. If you want to mail it, send a copy of the passport and a SASE for return.
Only spent a couple days in Vladivostok, but it is definitely worth a visit. Are you single? You may never leave.
There is a little more info and some links... do a search and you'll get some more.
other ??? PM me. I'll be there mid June for a few weeks.

ah sorry, my profile was old. I'm in Bundang, south of Seoul.
so only 2 weeks eh? Not too shabby.
So what can you tell me to do in Vladivostok? and why do you say if I'm single I may never leave? Great girls there? heh.
If you have any more info PM me as well!
Thanks. |
