| Potential jobs keep asking me to send a photograph? Being an American, this seems biased, but I am sure there is a good reason. What is it? |

Serious advice - put a pic of you in a suit looking professional and handsome rather than a pic of you in your speedos on the beach...........

| If you are fat then go onto fashion site with a digital photo and get yourself a good body with a nice set of clothes. I heard of one lady who attached a movie star's body and got a good job in Japan. |

And should I assume then that Asian countries do not like fat english speakers? |

It apparently was as funny as hell as she used the following famous picture of Mariyn Monroe to stick her head on. It started off as a joke but when they went for it she decided to carry it through. To me it is funny as people that ask for a picture usually lie and say that it isn't all that important and with all the equal oppertunity stuff and all they deserve to get played. When a school pays for the ticket and is short a teacher they are in an awkward position if what turns up isn't exactly what they expected.

I don't think it's a rule, but I've seen heavy teachers here have problems that they wouldn't have if they were teaching in North America. |

| If you have a bit of weight on ya, then it can be an advantage as kids never tire of pointing it out to you so you have a great talking point. I went in to work yesterday with some Tiger Balm rubbed on a couple of joints. Result subject was teacher stinks. Everyone had fun. It is how you handle things that counts. Take the kids seriously and go mad or go with them and have fun. |

| Just send a photo. If you are overweight and hideous, only apply for jobs that don't ask for a photo. But for VISA app. purposes head shots are unavoidable... unless you are applying in country with a little paper they send you. |
