Most of us know that prescription drugs (even w/o insurance) are a fraction of what they cost back home.

There are laws some places (Florida for example) that don't allow you to go from one doctor to another with the same story in order to obtain large amounts of a drug. Usually, someone breaking this law is a big fat idiot (I hope you get the allusion), or someone who is sadly addicted to pain pills, etc.

To shorten this discourse, does anyone know if there is a computer system linked together that could reveal someone going to several doctors in a short period of time and requesting and receiving the same prescription drug?

Why waste time trudging around town from doctor to doctor, when you should simply steal his prescription pad?

Yes, Rush Limbaugh. Al Franken wrote a book about him--Rush Limbaugh is Big Fat Idiot.

Then Rush got busted in Palm Beach International for a bottle of Viagra not perscribed in his name the other day and it made news.

I'm flying in to the same airport next week.

I'm not looking for anything. I already found it and know how to get it. I just need to make sure there is no centralized computer database here in Korea that's going to raise red flags when I stock up on it.

If you must know, it's just a benzo (a valium family drug) that I use occasionaly for sleeping and for international travel.

But it's a class "whatever" drug in the states and doctors don't want to perscribe it because of the DEA forms and all. And it's about $70.00 there for 60 tabs 2 mg, and I just picked up 180 1 mg tabs here for $19.00 US.

Loriazapam (brand name Ativan).

Everywhere I go in Korea, there's a centralized computer database. Immigration, point cards, etc. They won't have one for drug prescriptions? I'd imagine they would. The question is would they do anything? A pharmacist might not sell to you. But in a world where people can park in the middle of intersections and not get a ticket, I'd doubt the cops would come after you.

A centralized database in Korea means nothing if the boss doesn't tell his minions to check it. Korean workers must be told what to do and when to do it usually.

Example:
My ex was busted twice at hakwons with no visa in a 3 month period. She had to go to the main Immi branch both times and talk to some head guy. The 2nd time she was caught , they didn't even mention the first time, and to this day she's heard nothing about punishment and she got an E2 no worries later.

I thought for sure the alarm would go off on the computer or somthing and she was freaking out. But nothing happened...thank god.
