I'm getting restless and I've got a camera.
Looking to make some experimental, perhaps non-narrative short films.
Any takers? |

Demonicat made a post of this awhile back. Try looking a few pages back or PM him. |

When you're finished the film, and if you want copyright free music, maybe I can make a track or two for it. |

What kind of camera do you have? Old school celluloid style, or digital?

Hey, is this the same "let's make a movie" idea that posters have been talking about since last year? They had strategy meetings and recently got a camera, I think. I recall Rteacher and Demophobe (or Demonicat... always getting those two confused) were the big movers behind that project, and Itaewonguy as well. |

Yeah. I think Demonicat does have something going on and I'm waiting to hear back.
As for the camera, it's digital, but I'm ordering a DOF machine, Letus 35, to make it a little more like shooting on good ol' celluloid.
There's a guy who posted on the Demonicat's call to arms, who has a great camera, the Pan dvx100b, along with some cinematographic know how I believe, that puts mine to shame.
As far as finding a camera here, I'd go strictly digital. I picked up a pan dv400 for prices comparable if not less than what you would find in other parts of the world. |

I'm in Korea taking a break from filmmaking because editing for commission SUCKED ALL THE BLOOD OUT OF MY VEINS!
I said I'd take one year & get back to it...But Korea is such an extraordinary place that I am constantly inspired.
I am looking for others like me who are daring & willing...To capture extremes...
I already went on a huge crusade to find dog markets & videotape them
also to the red light district & also in the mountains (buddhist temples)
ANd I ended up just observing things without ever recording for some reason.
I'm a guy of ideas, but also dream of directing...
Check out some of my past projects (better on DVD)

Videotaping the worst elements of Korea probably won't have much or any positive effect - and if you're not careful you could get yourself in trouble. I'd recommend focusing on the best elements of Korean culture and eventually befriending Korean filmakers to collaborate on darker projects...The owner of the Sanchon restaurant in Insa-dong gave me the OK for a small crew to film their traditional Korean drum and dance dinner show - or even to shoot a short dramatic scene with dialogue - but we never took up the offer... |
