Man! I can't believe they're bringing this here! I mean, hardly any Koreans even know who Johnny Cash is.
I saw this film at home during winter vacation. It's simply Great! At first, when I saw who was playing Johnny Cash I said "No way! He doesn't look like Johnny Cash!" But I swear that 10 minutes into the movie he had me believing he was Johnny Cash. He's THAT good. The actress playing June Carter is awesome too.
Even if you're not a J.C. fan, you'll probably appreciate this film because it really shows off the mood of the times and the energy of Johnny Cash. It's 2 hours of good entertainment. I'm going to check it out again. |

| My girlfriend swears it won't be opening until this weekend. She's very excited, but she doesn't expect most Koreans will get it. The reviews she's read so far haven't been very insightful. |

Excellent movie! I highly recommend it.
One of the best scenes in the movie is where Reece Witherspoon is throwing beer bottles at Johnny and the band...FUNNY! |

Very good. If it wasn't for the 11 bucks I might see it again. Aside, if you have caa you can get about 3-4 bucks off per ticket. I'll probably wait for the dvd to see it again.
It seems there's more raving over Reese's performance. I'm not sure why. She's Academy Award material, but I definitely think Phoenix stole the show. Personally, I like the bathroom/motel(?) reno scene myself. I thot it would take more work to remove a sink.
Yes, Koreans will probably be clueless on this one. My wife had no idea who he/she or any of the other mostly-country references throughout the movie were. The only one she caught was Elvis. Understandable, I guess. |

Saw it on Singapore Airlines coming back here last week. It was so good I watched it 2x (plus that Truman Capote movie and Crash-3 big Oscar nominees-not bad for airline fare) and I'm not a JC fan but Phoenix and Witherspoon are outstanding. Hell, I think Phoenix was better than JC-I couldn't believe how well he can actually sing.
See it-you'll enjoy it. |

I'm writing as screenplay about you two guys. I'm thinking of calling it 'Brokeback Dave's'. 'Namsan Mountain' is another name that I have in mind. |
