I need to go to the Suwon Immigration Office tomorrow to apply for my ARC card. I know that it's close to Hwaseon station but I'm not sure how close. Can someone post directions? Thanks.

It's right next to the Olympic Stadium, and nowhere near a subway station.

I used to sort of date a girl who worked there. If they make the only girl who speaks English there speak to you, and she's not very good at English, say hi to Chiseone for me.

Actually the Immi office to get your ARC is near Hwaseo Station. It's pretty much opposite Seo-Suwon Bus Terminal/E-Mart.

However, I can't tell exactly how far it is from my tourist map, and I usually go to Suwon Station and then take bus 92 or 11 or 13 (I don't live in Suwon).
I know that at least one of those buses also goes past Hwaseo Station.

The few times I've had to go I usually forget the bus numbers and bus stop name, but the Tourist Info office next to Suwon Station has never let me down - they really do know their buses there!

I go to Suwon station and take a taxi. I get in the taxi and say E-mart.
It is across from E-mart.

It's probably advisable to get there as early as possible. I got there (with the head of the English dept. at my high school) around noon, and it we had to wait till 4:15 before our number was called ... After we got there we noticed a small sign stating "on-line reservations" - which would be the smartest way to go...

Yeah there are two offices in Suwon, but only one that can do your arc card at. The last time I went I grabbed a taxi from Hwaseo stn. and told him where to go but he was really confused and took me to the wrong one. I forgot that it's across from the E-mart. Apparently, there's supposed to be a really good farmer's market close to their too.

Rteacher: 4 hours! are you kidding? My last class doesn't finish until 3:00 so I can't go until after that. Maybe I'll ask my co-teacher about this online reservation thing tomorrow.

Thanks.

Very poor english skills, bring a Korean.

Never understood why THE IMMIGRATION OFFICE has such low level English skills.

I don't know how to get there from Hwaseo Station, but I know that you can walk there from Sungkyunkwan Univ. Station. Get off at the station and exit the station by turning right out the door. Go down the hill and continue straight along that main road. Cross the street where convenient, but keep going down the same road. After 15-20 minutes, you will come to an intersection with a huge E-Mart on the other side of the intersecting street. Don't cross, just turn left and there will be a little neighborhood there on the left with a little park, and lots of signs pointing you towards the immigration office.

If you do it this way, you should specify which E-Mart, because there is another E-Mart directly south from Suwon Station (on the same street). In fact, I think that one is actually closer than the one by immigration.

yeah...I was gonna say that by just saying e-mart....you're likely to end up at the bus terminal.

Then if you're gonna take a taxi, just ask for Seo-Suwon Bus Terminal instead. The E-Mart is in the same building (pretty new) and it's literally just 2 minutes' walk to Immigration, across the road.

Get to suwon station...go across the street where all the buses stop and get bus 92 or 92-1. It will stop at the corner of the immigration office. You can also cross the street..then take a taxi and show driver your alien card. Say immigration..they will know what you mean.
