Few university students reading newspapers online

Students at a Midwestern university reported that they were much more likely to read the campus paper and other newspapers in print rather than online newspapers
Newspaper circulations have been declining for three decades, especially among young adults. The Pew Research Center for the People & the Press found that only 26 percent of 18-24 year-olds read a newspaper, spending only about nine minutes a day with it.3 Another study found that 43 percent of the 16-29 year-olds say they could "get along easily" without newspapers.4

Students don't read about it

What's the most popular major at Chico State University? Business? Agriculture? Communications?

Actually, most Chico State University students major in ignorance.

They've become experts in their field, avoiding newspapers and current events like cats avoid bathtubs. Ask most students where our nation's "leader" was Friday morning, and they'll reply, "I don't know" or "The White House?" (as seen in Pulse at the bottom of the page).

It seems students don't want to learn about anything — they just want to get through college, get a high-paying job and get married. Then, when they've run out of things to say to their spouse, they'll start subscribing to The New York Times or The Sacramento Bee to have something to read at the breakfast table.
