Ordered this meal at the local "Bar-b-q and Hog" last night.
I thought I was getting a baked potato with sour cream and chives... that, I am afraid was not the case.
Whipped cream ... and those chives, chopped sweet pickle. WTF?
It's, supposedly, a New Zealand themed joint... is this how you eat baked potatoes in New Zealand? |

yeah, that's a good theory. how many times have you ordered something, and it comes out LOOKING delicious but TASTING like ass? Koreans know how to cook meat, they know how to fry stuff, they can make the sauces not too thick and not too watery. But they don't know about the right spices so the taste is always funny. |

This place desperatly needs immigrants to come in and cook real food. The only decent non-korean food I've had here has always been because a foreigner prepared it. |

There's decent foreign food out there, but you've got to poke around a fair bit to find it. I've had decent Mexican, and Indian in the last week |

If you want good western food, never trust anything that is sold as being "American-style." |

That's a very good way of describing it.
I've always had to laugh at what Koreans cobble together to simulate sour cream. If you're lucky it's whipped cream cheese.
This Korean restaurant chain called Frescos is another example of "well if it looks like picture it must match the taste" school of cooking. They've actually eschewed things like ovens, sauce pans, grills, and cook everything in the microwave. |

No, I'm in Inchon. It's on the bottom level of my school's building.
Its logo is Uncle Sam wearing a British flag/apron, proclaiming they serve New Zealand style food. |

Yeah, I got the old whipped-cream baked potato at a 'New Zealand' place called Hog. Shockingly, it's gone out of business. I can't imagine why. |
