|
|
I ditched my wife this year, so my cushy F-2-1/S-1 visa is
going to expire at the end of the 2006. And there is no way I will
ever teach English with an E-2 visa again!
Does anyone have an E-4 visa. This is a visa given to people
who provide special training to Korea public or private firms.
I currently work at a factory as a marketing manager. But I'm
not sure that will constitute specialty training. I could say that
I'm teaching my staff to market in Scotland using Gaelic. But
again, I'm not sure that will fly. My boss will sponsor(i.e. lie)
for any visa I apply for, but it has to be the correct kind.
Any suggestions?
Does anybody have an E-4? |

Sorry. I guess I wasn't reading well......weird. Anyway I hope it works out for you. Is your job a job that a korean can't do? I would assume that with the boss saying he needs you it should be easy to get the visa to work in the factory. I would go to immigration and talk to them. They can tell you better than us what to do and it would be vey good if the boss could go with you (I know he is a busy). |

Do you have a child born in Korea? If you do your F-2 remains valid. |

I'm thinkingthat your F2 might still be valid after. Was there not a lot of hubaba-baloo about Chinese wives being able to stay in the country after divorce? |

"Chinese wives being able to stay in the country after divorce?"
Maybe they were allowed to stay because the government felt bad because their husbands "ditched" them. |

On an F5. Since the F2 is a marriage visa it makes sense that it would be repealed once the marriage ceases to be. |

What's an F-5?
(I'm too lazy to look. Can anyone explain? Just in case my wife ditches me.) |

What's the f-5 process? (I'm paranoid, I guess, cuz she claims she loves me.) Maybe it's complex and/or dependent on the particular circumstances, but its always good to know where one stands.
Example, would it help if I became a Chinese woman?
(Seriously, would it?) |

FYI- E2 isn't an english teaching visa. It's a foreign language teaching visa. People who teach all manners of languages are on E2s. Your scenario of teaching Gaelic would apply here. Problem is, is that the factory needs to have a license from the Ministry of Education to allow for this and that's not easy to get for non-educational environments. Unless you were sponsored by an educational institute or company, and they farmed you out there. At least, that's the way the books would look, anyways.
Your situation may also fall under E7, but that requires a lot of paperwork and permission from different govt bodies. If your company is serious, then get them to pay an immigration consultant to navigate all this. Immigration consultants are 100% better than rolling the dice on eslcafe info. |

Immigration consultant? This is Korea not America. I would seriously doubt there is even one immigration consultant that deals with immigration to Korea.
The only thing he can do is go and talk to immigration, and they will be stupid like they always are. I hate to say, but, why do you want to stay so much but not on a teaching visa. Your job sounds like it is teaching ( whatever language).....maybe you just need to think about what you hope to do here in Korea. |
