Help me out here.
I bought an unidentified chunk of pork for this week's Sunday dinner. I've collected some promising recipes from the internet, but now I have the problem of choosing which one to fix. They all sound fine, but I can't make up my mind between them.
Should I go with:
a) Roast Pork Loin ("succulent with fragrant garlic, rosemary and wine")
b) Herb Roasted Pork ("with a sweet, tangy glaze"--the herb in question is sage)
c) Roast Pork with Thyme ("studded with slivers of garlic, roasted on a bed of bay leaves and basted with an infusion of apple cider, vinegar and thyme")
d) Simple Savory Roast Pork ("a melt-in-your mouth boneless pork loin roasted to perfection" with rosemary and thyme)
e) Spicy Honey Mustard Pork Roast ("a honey mustard glaze with black pepper for a little spice")
You can see the problem. I'm leaning toward 'e' because that one might convert to barbequed pork sandwiches with the best success, but just can't make up my mind.
So, IF you were invited to Ya-ta Boy's home for Sunday dinner, which would you choose?
a) Suddenly convert to Judaism, Islam or vegetarianism...
b) a-e above

Sage is a pretty tasty herb...
Since people were far more interested in going out and getting ship faced (^^) yet again tonight, rather than staying home and answering deeply important questions like mine on the internet, I went ahead and scored and doused the meat in oil, fresh thyme and crushed garlic. I figured that would get things started in the right direction and still give the souses time to post either after they stagger home tonight or during the morning on Sunday. Roast goes in the oven sometime around 5.
Get your votes in soon or lose your chance. Never know when I'll do another pork roast. |

How about a marinade of oil, fresh thyme and garlic for overnight? It added just that extra bit to the Honey Mustard recipe.

my fave is overnight in bourbon, honey, a splash of soy, and a ton of ginger. Turn every two hours as it marinades. |
