How much time have spent in Korea in your life ? This is a total of all time spent here in your life. I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but as you know the search engine sucks.

Iv'e been here only 9 months.

Just passed the 2 1/2 year mark. Should be here at least 4 years (maybe more).

Arrived in 1996.. but also spent one year in South America, two years in New York City, one year in San Francisco, and another year in Spain/Austria. Those are all various times during the last 10 years since first arriving in Korea 10 years ago.

can i just ask some of you people whats in korea for you? whats making you stay on? dont mean that in a critical way. i personally left after 2 years. i liked it for that time but i wanted to start my career back home. i felt it was a responsibility free lifestyle for me, time to save a bit of cash and do something different. was cool though. i couldnt of done anymore myself. how about you?

19 years. Haven't been to Korea for more than 4 years. Things might have changed a bit in my hometown, which was an apartment complex near Technomart. When I was living there, I didn't really travel around other parts of Seoul. If I go visit Seoul, it will be all refreshing....

For those of you who have been here 5+ years, what's your level of Korean proficiency? Are you fluent? How did you learn the language? Formal classroom setting? Korean friends/significant others? How long did it take you to get to the level of fluency that you wanted?

I've just started my 2nd stint here in Korea (was here almost a year and a half the first time) and I find myself wanting to know the language more and feeling kind of pathetic for knowing as little as I do. I don't have the kind of schedule that will permit me to take classes at a language institute. Is it just a matter of time?
