Does such a beast exist?

Well, luxury as in an Internet connection and shower unit within room. Preferably in the Hongdae area (though Sillim would be okay too). Would really appreciate any advice or recommendations.

(Done the search here, and cannot find any advice on Goshiwon for people with Prince disease)...privacy, inside showers etc.

Thanks

Goshiwon near Seoul NAtional University Station (kinda by Sillim) is pretty nice, and for a bit more (350,000 total I think it was) you can get one with a private bathroom and shower. Little bit bigger room and a window too. Comes with a little TV and free cable. Have to keep quiet though. If you gotta save money, the smaller rooms aren't TOO bad, and the shared bathroom facilities are pretty clean.

I'm in one right now while I look for something more permanent, but this time in Bundang. I'm paying out the wazoo (460,000), but have a private bathroom, Internet, and flatscreen tv (prolly 24"). About twice the size of the other rooms. No window. Noise carries a lot worse in this one too, or at least the people are noisier.

If you want to find the first one I mentioned, go to SNU station, leave out the exit that actually heads towards SNU, and go straight for... well, a couple blocks. When I was there, there was a major construction project going on at the district office, and that's where you turned right and just walked a little bit farther. I don't know what the status is now, but if you look for the crosswalk on your left and hang a right just after passing the crosswalk that should put you on the correct street. Keep looking up in the air, as it's on the top floor...

oh yeah, if you hit the GS Supermarket, go back two buildings (and they rent dvds there really cheap too).

Possibly my worst directions ever (I'm usually pretty good at giving directions), but that's the best I can do. Sorry.

Yes, you can get one with a private shower, bathroom, and walls thick enough that you can bring someone over so it's not really a Goshiwon anymore, but rather a mini one-room, but they can still be found on goshiwon search sites.

Here's a page on them and a few dozen locations:

I have a friend staying in one right now. Damn that's the smallest room I've ever encountered in my life. You couldn't swing a bloody cat in that thing, though they still managed to squeeze a shower in there.
