Im currently teaching an interpretation and translation course at a university. Unfortunately, though I have some experience in interpretation and translation, I feel my knowledge of the field is limited. Has someone else taught a similar course? Would you be able to suggest some exercises that students could do in class, or some online resources which might be helpful? Any help would be appreciated as I want to offer the students as good a course as I am able to I should point out that the course is designed to introduce interpretation and translation from Korean into English, and vice versa, and that my Korean is (very) limited – hence the plea for assistance.

Cheers, and thanks for any help.

Hi

Here is a link to a site where native speakers talk on various subjects. They are only short pieces, but maybe they would be good for a simultaneous interpretation exercise.

The wikipedia article on translation is actually quite thorough and I enjoyed it:

Thanks very much for your suggestions. I found both sites very useful and hope to be able to incorporate material from them into the course. Now if only I could learn Korean overnight...
