I don't usually watch Sunday afternoon TV but yesterday had two friends back out on plans, leaving me not much to do. I Love Korea is an Arirang production that is basically a series of tourist promotions for various cities and areas. Their Incheon promotion was just hilarious. 'Meet the beautiful splendour [the hello chorus?] of Incheon Grand Park'. 'Visit the largest Chinatown [on the edge of an industrial armpit with no pedestrian areas] in Korea'. It just went on and on and on with shots of an Indian couple touring around. My favourite was 'a great place to spend romantic moments with someone you love [unless that someone happens to be Korean and you happen to be white]'.

After a whole half-hour just praising Incheon in a standard Arirang accent I came to the conclusion that there is absolutey nothing Arirang won't lie about so bald-facedly it would make Geobbles blush.

My advice to tourists: Korea could be a really interesting place to spend a week or two and you should give it a go, but stay the hell away from Incheon.
