I find it strange that the U.S. clamps down on smoking at home, while being the worlds biggest producer of tobacco and related diseases.
A World Safe for Big Tobacco
Tobacco is now killing 4.9 million people a year. At this rate, WHO figures the premature death toll will reach 10 million a year within a generation -- with 70 percent of the deaths in developing countries. And unlike AIDS or even SARS, this disease doesn't come from a virus, it comes from an industry.

No doubt that the tobacco industry exploits this.
But what is keeping them from introducing legislation or allowing for class-action law suits, etc.? That the tobacco industry bribes them and that their leaders love to take bribes, even demand bribes at times? Whose fault is that? |

- some countries are indeed conducting fairly vigorous health campaigns...but as you say, where they are failing is where B.A.T and the rest can take full advantage. |
