Families steamed over winning Tim Hortons' cup

The kid found the cup in the garbage and was smart enough to check if it was a winner, but couldn't roll up the rim to see if she won a prize. She asked her friend, and now her friend's parents think they should be entitled to some of it because their daughter rolled up the rim. Morons. They are saying it's for her education... Rolling Eyes The first kids family was actually going to give some money to the other's family, but the other's family decided they wanted more.

Quote:

"It's not for me. It's for my daughter's education. I never wanted this to blow up the way it has."

Prevost said she doesn't plan to go to court but hopes the other family will find it in their hearts to recognize her daughter's part in their luck.

Then she says this. What part did the other child play in the luck. NONE. She just rolled it up, she didn't find the cup.

And finally, the teacher who threw it out is thinking of legal action for it. She THREW the fricken cup away.

Not the Canada I grew up in anymore.

EDIT, I changed this cause I don't have time to get into the socialism bit. I was expecting more time Wink I'll just leave it at another stupid article to comment on.

Clearly, you have not the slightest idea what a socialist is.

How is he not a socialist? He wants to socialize the means of production (and with it any notion of individual rights)...

Sarcasm is harder to pick up in text. A wink would relieve us all of the ambiguity...

Nothing suprises me anymore, especially when that "nothing" involves humans.

How much I hate people.....

Why socialism will continue to have appeal:

A mid-20's Korean with no special training...GS 25 clerk: W3,000/hour
A mid-20's waygookin, BA in ceramic ashtray design: W50,000/hour for private classes.
