To begin: Let's assume one isn't downloading movies, so for purposes of this discussion please refrain from advising downloading...

Where in Seoul (and perhaps more specifically in the Gangnam area) is there a decent selection of DVDs for rental? Yeah, there's a small selection at some Family Marts and other small places in my area, but it's hard to find movies that aren't recent releases.

Any suggestions/locations/directions?

Or if that doesn't work out, one could try Taehangno. It's in Seoul. Just take the subway.

Gangnam is a pretty big area.

I have a great DVD store near me in Daechi-dong. Hundreds of older titles.

<possessing a small clue, though not "ah pahking" one...>

I admit, Gangnam was too big an area to specify, but I was trying not to be too restrictive.

As for Daechi-dong (or better yet, near Gangnam or Yeoksam subway stations), could you provide any more explicit directions or names of stores?

Thanks!

There's so many stores. I live in Daechi 4 dong so I go to the one in my neighborhood. It's 5 minutes walk from my house. I got lucky. It has an awesome DVD selection.

If you walk around your own neighborhood enough then eventually you will find the video store that matches your requirements.

Will you travel 20-30 minutes from Yeoksam/Gangnam station to my area (Seolleung Station) to use the video store I use??? I don't think so.
