I have done some research, but I want to hear some other people's opinions as well. there is nothing like hearing from someone who has been to a place. During the summer, my GF and I will take a trip somewhere, about 7-10 days. She has only 1-1.5 million won to spend. I can help her a tad, but not a ton (damn student loans). that needs to include all prices, food, airfare, hotels...

I am considering Japan, but is that too little money for such an expensive place?

China is definitely an option...

has anyone gone to India? how much would that cost?

Does anyone have any advice on a limited budget 10 day vacation? thanks...

Airfare to India is too expensive for your budget.

Forget Japan. It costs just to cough there. Seriously, I've been there four times and it ALWAYS costs me more than I'd expected.

China is do-able.

Thailand is of great value, especially the islands in the gulf in the summer. The rains come and go quickly, I hear.

And if you can get a deal on airfare, Vietnam is cheap enough for your budget.

I'd definitely say Thailand.. you can get really cheap and decent hotels there.. whereas China, cheap means nasty...

Go get some sun!! Very Happy

Boracay in the Philippines is sweet -- theres another thread up now about it. Its a small island though, best if you want a lazy soft time. I spent another short trip in Vietnam, also recommendable. Hanoi is a nice base of operations -- you can make easy sidetrips to Sapa in the mountains & Halong Bay from there, beautiful. I havent been to Thailand.

Wherever you go, dont overreach. Dont attempt to "do" a country in a week or 10 days. Far better to research & settle on just one or two prime locations.

Have fun!
