So I just downloaded South Park via torrent. Normal when my torrent is complete edonkey pops it into the folder as an avi. file, but this time it completed buit this didn't happen, and I'm not sure what to do next.

I have found a folder with the following:

1 .nfo file showing the ms info icon (the kind that you might open with notepad to read warez text etc.)
10 files, .r00 to .r09 apparently these are compressed as they use a winRAR archive icon
and finally 1 .sfv file

I am familiar with WinRAR, but am uncertain how to use it in this context.

I'm sure this is a no-brainer for people into bit torrents (i'm not really) and it's probably already in a thread here already (I admit it- I'm too lazy to search right now).

Anyone got the answer?

As per your guess you need to use Winrar to "unrar" it and THEN it will see the avi file appear. Start winrar, click one of the rar files you have and say "extract here" and it is a simple process.

Make a new folder and unrar them there, especially if you're still seeding. Select "extract files..." by right-clicking on one of the rars and you'll be able to dump the episode into the new folder you created for it. Same if you downloaded a season of episodes. Right-click on each of them and WinRAR will unrar them wherever you instructed.

Hmm, I don't see the need to make a new folder as I never do and all has been fine. I've unrared while I'm still seeding and continuing to seed and never had a problem. If you're thinking is that the folder will be less cluttered when trying to look for it, it isn't necessary as if I use GOM player for example (or whatever player you use) and click to open the folder only the avi will show up, not all the rar files that are there. Just my 2 cents....
