|
Hello, I know there's probably recruiter questions all the time, but I was just wondering if anyone's had experience with Canada Connection. I'm looking at getting a public school job with them, which sounds very favourable to a hogwan. Any advice or stories?
Also, what sort of salary can I expect with a BA (English) and a BEd? Thanks for your help! |

I could set you up with a public school position that'll pay 2.2 to 2.3 million won per month with your qualifications. If your interested PM me. |

Would double degreed give me a good shot at a uni job? How difficult would it be to line up a uni job from Canada? What would be the best way to go about that? Just apply to the jobs on Dave's?
Thanks for the help. |

You have a B.Ed and you're applying at fly-by-night cram schools/hagwons?
Start applying at unis, public and private SCHOOLS and even at international schools. You can get a job at an international school in China and make the same wage that most do in Korea, expect that you'd have a low cost of living in China. You'd save a ton of cash. Or, you could get a job teaching directly (no middle-man) for a school in Japan, and easily make the equivalent of 4 million won a month there. That's what I'm doing. I get about 13 weeks of vacation a year, as opposed to the BS 10-days a year that you'd get at a hagwon in Korea. Those jobs are difficult to come by, but they do exist. They become less difficult to get with a B.ED, like you have.
Don't apply at hagwons. Get a better job. It's completely possible to get a uni job in Korea with JUST a BA. You'd be more qualified than many applicants.
You could apply for the uni ads you see on Dave's, for sure. I think the next semester starts in the fall, so start applying now! |

Well I'm not really looking for a hogwan, just a public school because I hear they're much better. International school would be great, though they generally look for someone with 2 years of teaching experience, which I don't have. I'm certainly interested in teaching in a uni, so I'll keep my eyes posted for that. Thanks for the help. |
