Hi all, I am asking for help on behalf of a family friend, who is South Korean-born but came to the UK in her twenties. After nearly 30 years of living and working here she is considering returning to live in South Korea, to be close to remaining family. However she is not sure of what jobs might be open to her in South Korea... She has age working against her, and no English teaching experience, but surely someone fluent in written and spoken English and Korean could find some kind of teaching / translation work available? Would anyone have any idea of what she could do? She has some education qualifications in Korea but none from the UK.

She could also get contracted by a company and write TOEIC questions or proof reading them.

There's pretty good money there.

She could do TOEIC, a crappy hagwon job, or work as a hooker. I'm serious. Not much else here, unless she can work her way into a trading company. Pay would probably not be good.

How good is her Korean? Is she friends with Daniel Henney?

Also tell her to give any and all big companies a look. Many of them need bilingual employees for communication work. Look at translation/editing work.

She already has what Korea is paying big bucks to develop. She will be able to work anywhere in the country she wants and command a decent income. She just needs to start looking around.
