Does anyone else here have CFS? Just wondering. I've had it for years, and have learned how not to let it effect my job, but it does effect my relationships cause when I get home, I just can't seem to do anything. It's not related to culture shock - I had it in the US too. If anyone has it, have you found any kind of remedies, homeopathic or otherwise? Thanks.

Have you tried changing your diet? This worked wonders for me:

If you don't want to read the whole thing to a CTRL-F for "chronic fatigue"

Bee's Pollen!!!!!!

Guaranteed, send me a thank you card...... remember, bees exist wholly on this gift of nature and they keep going and going and going. The only known food which you could eat exclusively and live and live and live....no other food like that exists. And to top it off, it is actually male sperm believe it or not...........but in a different form.

isn't the formal name "Royal Jelly"? ...or is that different?

i thought i had CFS years ago but things changed when i changed my diet. specifically by restricting my sugar/carbohydrate intake.

Bee's pollen isn't Royal Jelly!!!! It is not what the queen gets but what keeps the worker bees hopping and making the royal jelly. They fly 24/7 and put it in their pouch, bring it back to the hive and keep it in storage.

It is granular, yellow and collected by putting a wire mesh over the hive entrance. As the bees enter the hive, they squeeze through and some pollen drops into a tray below and is collected. ......

The people living in the Caucaus mountains have been investigated for living so long and healthily. Initially investigators thought it was their yoghurt products. This was broadly publicized and actually led to the popularization of yoghurt in the mid 70s. Low and behold, further research shows that it wasn't the yoghurt but actually that these mountain villagers ate a very hearty diet of honey, honey collected as leftovers from the bottom of their hives and loaded with pollen. The good honey they sold in the city and was their primary source of income....

Now, I don't know where to get it in Korea. My niece brought over 2 bags and I am almost out (and she broke some kinda laws bringing in "live" products but hey.......)........if anyone knows , please let us know.

I don't know what it's worth but I would have long bouts of fatigued....turned out i had a sugar imbalance...regulated the carbs and it went away.

I suppose it isn't really the same thing soo....

Thanks for all the good suggestions. I will try the diet approach - I eat a lot of carbs and sugars. Any more suggestions would be appreciated~

I have recently been on a fruit and vegetable diet. I eat only food that can be eaten raw (although sometime I cook it for variety). I eat no dried fruit, though I allow some nuts. I've never felt so alive and energetic! I've also lost 7 kilos in 3 weeks. I intend to make fruit and vegetables the mainstay of my diet for the rest of my life. I will only include wholegrains - no process carbohydrates except at parties or special occasions. The fuel you put in your tank really seems to affect your performance.

CFS is an awful thing to suffer from - I'm glad I have no experience of it. I hope you find something that works for you - good luck!

Exercise, on top of a change in diet, is probably your best bet. I know it sounds tough considering your state of fatigue, but trust me...it works wonders. Just make sure you start off light and gradually work your way up.

If your blood sugar level is high (which it will be since you admit you eat a lot of carbs and sugars) then your body is going to be cranking out insulin, which will make you feel sleepy. You can regulate this somewhat by eating more protein with your meals. (Or so I have heard.)

A steady, everyday diet of lots of fresh fruit and *dark green vegetables*, and the basic 4 oz of protein with some carbs (rice, pasta, potatoes) has always done it for me. When I diverge from that for a few days I sure don't have the energy I'm used to having--notice it right away. Drink lots of water too (not soda).

Diet is everything!

The Eye,

Like others have been saying....I'd really concentrate on finding out what foods work for your body/metabolism. Usually (not always) CFS is about some kind of food allergy or badly functioning energy input........

So you have to do test diets, basically 2 week trials where you eliminate something from your diet totally and keep a record/diary to record how you feel. The diary should work on a sliding/daily scale (morning/afternoon/evening).

I know it is a lot of work but worth it!!! Of course , some exercise is great and helps but it isn't the solution...
Good luck.

Hey,

I've gone through bouts of feeling super tired too and I'm going through one right now.

Here's my plan:

1) Increase the amount of water I drink each day.

2) Go for a 30 minute jog each morning after I wake up. I'm pretty good
with exercise but it always seems to get pushed to the side when I get busy with work.

3) Limit the amount of sugars I take in. Ie. no sugar in my coffee. No candy or junk food.

4) Increase the amount of fresh fruits and vegetables I eat.

whoa... That is a hard thing to get over...
good luck with that SU...

When I did Atkins and got excercise, i'd never felt so good in my life. There is no doubt to me that my blood sugar has a disastrously HUGe affect on my mood/being/state of mind/state of awareness.

I cut A LOT of carbs out; my body still had a LOT of energy to burn and I was surprised at how much better I felt burning fat than burning carbs....
weird

Does CostCo still sell bee pollen?

I bought some from them a long time ago (maybe last year or so).
